Samskip is an international company that provides the latest and most sustainable multimodal logistics solutions. Our Romanian office in Cluj-Napoca is home to 14 skilled IT professionals. Between them, this team ensures that everyone who is part of Samskip’s complex logistical operations can do their work without any technical hitches every hour of every day. Delivering essential 24/7 support
Key tasks in this role include answering and handling all requests via the ticketing system, chat or telephone in accordance with departmental policies. Another core function is to perform first-level troubleshooting via the chat and telephone for any problems relating to printers, computers, telephones, the Operating System (mostly Windows 10), and applications (core business system and internal applications). You then escalate the issue upwards if necessary. At all times you coordinate with other IT Helpdesk Departments to keep the daily IT procedure running smoothly.
In addition you:
- Assign tickets to the appropriate team and person in a timely manner;
- Accurately record, prioritize and update all tickets of incidents and requests through the Service Desk System, ensuring all minimum data sets are met;
- Create knowledge documentation articles.
It is important that you take ownership and coordinate on all critical incidents, following incident management procedures as defined by company policy.

Bring your positivity and IT know-how
Samskip works with all current and relevant IT tools. So, to apply for this position you should have a good understanding of: Active directory, Citrix, Windows OS, Basic Networking, Office 365 Clouding Services (Teams, Sharepoint, Onedrive). You should also have a working knowledge of VPN, IOS and Android mobile devices, hardware devices and peripherals.
But this role is about people as well as technology. That’s why we’re looking for proactive and organized candidates who can listen to colleagues than interact with them effectively in order to solve their problems.
The more formal requirements are:
- College or University graduate in an IT field;
- Around 2+ years of experience in a very similar or equivalent position;
- Powerful interpersonal, listening and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
